My kiddos and I have much of a better time when I’m not forcing them to be still, look in the camera and pretend to smile. We’ve done this enough over the years so they’re now trained to fake smile for the camera. I still think their fake smiles are funny, but I prefer to take pictures of them while they’re in their own element, doing what they like, being themselves. It captures their genuine expressions, their personality, and a moment in time we can look back and remember.
I love theses photos. It captures them perfectly. Our girl who’s not a big fan of water in her face, our super skinny older son, then our crazy youngest son who loves playing in the water, also wearing his shoes backwards just cause he loves it that way…
By the way, this was only 15 minutes of our Sunday afternoon, but the memories? Priceless.
I’m glad I had my camera with me and got to document this. I often get caught up in playing with them that I forget to snap some pictures, and sometimes my laziness gets in the way.
You don’t need fancy devices to do this. Even a camera phone will do just fine.
My challenge to us all:
1. Remember to capture memories.
2. Overcome laziness and actually capture memories.
You won’t regret it.

What wonderful moments!
