JoJo & Tine + 2

Joseph and Christine are dear friends of mine and my kiddos call them JoJo and Ms. Tine. This was I believe my 3rd year doing a family portrait session for them and they are the best!

As I’ve been shooting more weddings and family sessions this year one thing I realized is that when I’m photographing, I’m capturing moments and images that I wish someone would capture for me.

As a husband and a father I know the emotions that you go through on your wedding day or when I’m playing with my children. I’ve been at the alter kissing my bride for the first time, I know that look my bride gave me when we first saw each other on our wedding day, I’ve shed tears hugging my mom during the ceremony because I was so thankful for all she’s done for me especially after my father passed away and wishing he was there to witness, I’ve seen my sister walk down that aisle alone on her wedding day because in her mind no one else could fill the shoes of my father who was watching from heaven. As a daddy of a little girl, at every wedding I get emotional when the father of the bride gives his daughter away, and during the father and daughter dance at the reception. I think about my little girly and Lord willing that time is gonna come. Oh man, I’m gonna lose it;)

And as a parent, I know the joy of playing with my kiddos, hearing them say silly things, hearing them giggle or laugh out loud, watching them play, the feeling when they run straight at you to give you the biggest hug, or when they come from behind you and wrap their little arms around to you climb on you, the joy of just holding them and kissing them on their soft cheek or lips, I could go on and on.

Those are priceless moments. Moments that are precious to me. Moments that you and I want to cherish. And I am so glad that I get to pick up my camera and photograph those moments for you.

All the images that I capture are truly coming from my heart. Either I’ve been in your shoes so I know what you’re feeling at that moment or I want to capture whatever emotions that are going through you at that moment so that when you look at the images days or years down the road you won’t forget.

Even if it’s a nice headshot or a portrait of you or your family looking in the camera, hey, I want a nice portrait of my family or a portrait of just me and my wifey or a nice portrait of just her on her wedding day. You feeling me? I love what I do and I do not take it lightly. That’s why I love getting to know people. And people I get to photograph. I want to know you. I want to know what’s meaningful and precious to you so that I can capture the real you. Not the fake ‘look here in the camera and say cheese’ you.

I have some more precious family portrait session that are coming up on the blog so stay tuned.  They are all unique in their own way but captures their life and who they are.
