Had the honor of second shooting Carolina and Matt’s wedding for Paul Kim couple weeks ago. It was great being a second shooter because I had the freedom to focus more on things that are happening away from the bride and groom.
Here’s my goal when I’m second shooting: Document images that complement the main photographers’ images, not duplicate them.
Before I started my own business I second shot for 2.5 years for many wonderful wedding photographers here in the Washington DC area and that is one lesson I learned. Jasmine Star also has a recent post on her blog about tips on second shooting so check it out.
It was wonderful to interact with all the friends and family who even traveled from Peru to be at the wedding.
Congratulations Carolina & Matt!
If you already haven’t hop on over and check out the images by Paul Kim.

I love the tears of joy in Carolina’s mother’s eyes.

While Paul was getting some nice portraits of the bride and groom, I mingled during the cocktail hour.
